What are bagasse plates made of?

Bagasse is the fibre left after sugarcane is pressed for its juice. It is moulded into a rigid plate, so bagasse plates and sugarcane plates are the same product. Our bagasse products are certified compostable to EN 13432 and/or OK compost standards. The 9 inch plate is 225mm across and 19.6mm deep, and the 7 inch is 175mm across and 15.8mm deep. The 3-compartment plate keeps sauces away from sides on a buffet or event menu.
